View Full Version : Pictures from Maylaysia Godfather25 06-27-2006, 09:46 PM I got back about a month ago from Borneo, Maylaysia and took like 1,000 pics.... here are a few Anbesol 06-27-2006, 10:09 PM magnificent. excellent captures every one of them! Loupey 06-28-2006, 07:12 AM Just a few quick comments on the top and bottom shots: Top one: My first impression was that of a very pleasing image. I didn't like the centering of the tree line at first. I was going to say that it might have had a bigger impact if you lowered and squished the tree line with the foreground plants by shooting from a slightly lower angle and pointing up slightly with the camera. That would have gotten more sky. But now that I look at it more, I can see how the tree line can be used as a dividing line - for the sky above and plants below. Bottom one: Love the subject matter and positioning. Don't love the background. Always pay particular attention to the backgrounds with macro/closeup shots. Godfather25 06-28-2006, 01:36 PM Thank you both for your comments, i agree the backround can be a bit better, i took a few of this guy, he scared me a little bit (hate spiders) :cryin: and as i was taking pictures i watched a bee run into the web... The first one was while driving in a tourbus so its not as great quality as i would have liked (dirty windows and speed/movement made it difficult) and the other spidey one was a little difficult to focus on the bee with my 55-200 MM lens, (didnt want to get to close to that spider) let me know if you like these better Loupey 06-28-2006, 08:17 PM Now this spider shot is great! Tells a story doesn't it? Clean background and good detail on the bee. The soft spider is perfect to imply an impending doom for the bee. The only suggestion on this one is that a vertical shot would be more "appropriate" here and it would be icing on the cake if you had the rest of the missing spider. Great image! The clouds/mist in the hills is pretty too. I'm partial to macros tho :p livin4lax09 06-28-2006, 11:03 PM I, in contrast, like the first spider photo. Maybe because red, white and blue are my favorite colors...nice two-tone. Godfather25 06-29-2006, 05:27 AM hahaha. thanks loupy i kinda wish you woulda been there to tell me to do a virtical shot, that spider scared me a little, HES HUGE, thanks for the advice and i am starting to look into getting a macro lenses, but i need to start saving for that first |
