This was taken outside the university. I shot to darken the background. He doesn't have a natural look when he smiles, which is the reason for the serious look.

If so, congratulations on his graduation! I bet that feels good. He looks as serious as his dad sounds! Ronnoco 06-23-2006, 09:13 AM Hello Ronnoco! Is this your son? If so, congratulations on his graduation! I bet that feels good. He looks as serious as his dad sounds! Yes, this is him. He is still recovering from a near fatal car crash from a year ago, which delayed his graduation ceremony. When he was in a coma, we were not even sure if he would ever make his graduation, so yes it certainly does feel good, for all of my family. Thanks Ronnoco julsoph 06-23-2006, 09:18 AM Yes, this is him. He is still recovering from a near fatal car crash from a year ago, which delayed his graduation ceremony. Thanks Ronnoco Wow...I'm sure that was a huge event for all of you. I'm glad he's okay. My older daughter tends towards serious expressions herself...I like them almost as much as her smiling photos. :) Emily Old Timer 06-23-2006, 09:21 AM Grads Ronnoco on a very special day. Can't begin to imagine how i would feel if one of my chidren were close to death. All the more reason to rejoice now! My daughter graduated this spring. Now were in the middle of that search for the first job. She has had three interviews so far and I'm in hopes of a bidding war for her services. walterick 06-23-2006, 09:24 AM Well, now I understand why this is such a meaningful photograph for you. Ronnoco, I am sorry to hear about his accident and I am so glad to see that he is recovered and up on his way to living the good life. I cannot imagine being put through such an ordeal as that. Make sure you tell him you love him and that it's all downhill from here  He truly is now on the threshold of the rest of his life! Oh, and tell him that smiling is good for his spirit, no matter what it looks on the outside. Liz 06-23-2006, 09:43 AM Ronnoco, I'm sorry to hear about your son's accident. The emotional aspects of a trauma take a very long time to heal, but it sounds like your son is well on his way. I'm so happy for him, for you and for your family that he has come such a long way, and that he graduated. He is a very good looking young man! You have a right to be proud. Thanks for sharing this with us. BTW - the photo is great too! I'm sure it has a very special place in your home as well as your heart. I'll say a special prayer for him. Liz Yes, this is him. Thanks Ronnoco Ronnoco 06-23-2006, 09:59 AM Thank you everyone for the kind thoughts and good wishes, which I will extend to my son and my family. It is still an uphill battle in that he has at least another full year of an extensive rehabilitation program and will still be facing challenges at the end of it. He has however really come a long way and we are certainly proud of his efforts and accomplishments. Ronnoco ken1953 06-23-2006, 12:50 PM Congrats Ronnoco and your son! It appears and sounds like challenges to him will be little problem considering how much he has already done!!! We'll keep him in our thoughts and hope that his determination and strength will bring him through all of this better than everyone thinks!!! Ken paulnj 06-23-2006, 08:10 PM Ronnoco, Having watched my brother in a coma for over a week, not knowing if he would make a recovery, my heart goes out to you. I surely hope that your son makes a full recovery and goes on to make you even prouder than you must be already.
