took this one this weekend... this monsters take almost all the Hudson river when "parking" or leaving the piers... is really nice to see them.
Hope you like the pic.

Some good shots but what i like most is the low cloud or fog setting in.
Even the foam stream has been captured. I like it :)

Well done. Nice choice in using b & w.

You captured it! This is a nice shot of this beautiful ship. I also agree that your choice of b&w is perfect.

Where did you shoot this from? I got a couple of not-so-great shots of the same ship from the deck of the Intrepid. The sun was way too bright along with the reflections of the water didn't help! I'm glad you got such great results. Thanks for posting it.

I took the picture at dusk, it was in blvrd. east, in Weehawken, New Jersey (on a third floor apt.)

Thanks for the feedback.

beautiful cityscape shot. Just captures the sense of largeness when you have the buildings to compare against. Those ships are immense. I went on my first and only cruise in 2001 (Celebrity cruise on board their then flagship, the Infinity), and these are floating cities. 3000+ guests, not including crew. The numbers the captain gave at the final midnight grand buffet was staggering. In one week, this ship consumed 30000 lbs of red meat, 50000 lbs of poultry and seafood, 40000 eggs, 20000 bottles of wine, 20000 gallons of ice cream, and I lost track of the rest. The bow has a helicopter pad, and the shopping is there if you like over spending. Casinos too, if you like ripping up hundred dollar bills (yep, some folks were literally doing that). These ships are as large as today's modern attack aircraft carriers. Just staggering that ships that large can float. Beautiful shot, really captures the sense of scale of these behemoths.
