I think my only critique of this would be that her position seems awkward, and I'm thinking it's because I can't see her arms supporting herself...so it looks like she's rising up from the grass unnaturally, if that makes any sense. Her expression is good though, and overall I think it's a good shot. :) Emily PlantedTao 05-18-2006, 07:04 AM I have to agree with Emily that her position seems a bit odd...her resting on her arms would of worked better if you could see more of her lower half or as was suggested see more of her arms. However it is a good photo and I love the natural light and the grass. All the colors work very well...nothing is over done, so you have the feel of a very natural and easy photo...if only the pose mirrored that. How could you not love doing photography with this as you subject?:) Cheers. Overbeyond 05-18-2006, 08:24 AM I love photographing pretty girls!!! Canon 20D/Tamron SP AF90mm 2.8 Di 500th@f6.7 200ISO Jurgen Australia I agree with the other comments Jurgen. The moment I saw it I thought you had dug a hole for her and said; "Jump in there now like a good girl, be quiet and look at the camera and we'll see what we can come up with" :D Everything else is fine. Tom yogestee 05-18-2006, 03:53 PM Yeah,,,,the grass was about 4' high...I had to physically stamp the grass down to flatten it otherwise I would have lost her..Nikki is only 5'1" tall and about 90lbs.. Jurgen Australia How about trying a shots where she's laying across the grass(on her back) and having her look up at you...her weight( as little as there is) would have held the grass down maybe in an interesting pattern... Lava Lamp 05-20-2006, 08:46 PM Looking at this photo and the other "in the grass," I'm reminded yet again of how different people can look from shot to shot. It hardly seems the same girl. I prefer this of the two shots and generally think that it is very good. It seems to me that her position lends itself to a bit of a slumping, slope-shouldered appearance. I think it might be a touch more flattering if she were squaring her shoulders a bit more. Secondarily, it seems just a little lacking in contrast and optimal sharpness as presented here on the web. Looks to me like it might need a little unsharpmask and slight levels adjustment. |
