How is this to you?

View Full Version : Waterfall at Japanese Garden... manacsa 05-16-2006, 08:58 PM How is this to you? Loupey 05-17-2006, 05:20 AM I think it's a bit wide. The image should stop at the junction between the maple and the green creeper thing. The result would be almost square unless you have more in the original file. It looks a little flat. Could use a saturation and contrast boost. The waterfall looks good. Not too sharp, not too blurry. ltilley 05-17-2006, 05:21 AM It's a beautiful shot. I think it's beautiful the way it is, however I might have lengthened the exposure even more to get even more of the water blurr. Also, I would have brought out the saturation a little more as well in the purple plants; and possible moved the water fall a tad bit to the left so that it fell on the 1/3 line. As I said, It's perfect and beautiful the way it is... those are just thing I often tell myself after I see the photo on the screen. OldSchool 05-17-2006, 05:22 AM I think you have a nice capture there. I like the composition, and I like the variation of colors and textures. I would try and brighten it up a little though. Tim manacsa 05-17-2006, 11:33 AM Thanks for everyone's comments. I appreciate it. I think it's a bit wide. The image should stop at the junction between the maple and the green creeper thing. The result would be almost square unless you have more in the original file. So no green creeper thing at all? It looks a little flat. Could use a saturation and contrast boost. You should see the orignial! It's ultra flat! I'll work on it more. dbutler 05-17-2006, 05:28 PM This really is a beautiful capture. The only thing that bothers me (and it may just be my monitor) is that the "creeper" seems overly bright to me. Almost glowing. But I don't think there could be a bad crop in this no matter how you did it. Each section of the image holds so much of interest and beauty. I'd like to see you produce a bad crop! srobb 05-18-2006, 08:43 AM This is a very nice capture. I would have also gone for a little more exposure to blur the waterfall. That's just me, though. The colors are good; have to agree with some extra saturation would help. The only spot that really bothers me is the bottom right where it looks are ferns which are a little hot to my vision. |
