I have been trying to find a river otter for years now! I have photographed them in FL, but some are right down the road! payn817 05-05-2006, 03:01 PM It was amazing really. I was trying to take a photo of a fall, and heard rustling. I looked in that direction, and there he was. Eventually another joined and they walked up to me and started playing and rolling around on the ground. It was almost as if they were pets. I didn't touch them or anything though. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect from them if i tried to be friendly. I took about 20 photos, but these little guys are so hyper it's hard to get a good one. Incredibly cute though!! Knight 05-05-2006, 03:12 PM Wow Great Capture Payn817 :) Loupey 05-05-2006, 05:49 PM And I was trying to figure out what kind of sea lion lives in Georgia. Duhhhhh Lava Lamp 05-05-2006, 06:07 PM And this guy followed me and wanted to play :) Wow. I've only seen one of these in the wild once and only for a moment with no camera. Way to go. Nice pic, too. mjs1973 05-05-2006, 06:31 PM Very cool Payn! I have never seen one in the wild, but I'm hoping to spend a little time on the river this summer, so I'm hopefull. OBie 05-06-2006, 06:07 AM Very cool to even see one in the wild - let alone get some great shots! payn817 05-06-2006, 04:32 PM Yeah, it was great! Here's another showing a little more of the otter. Thanks for the comments. paulnj 05-06-2006, 10:29 PM Otters are not a mean animal, but they are very inquizative and playful by nature though. Have you ever heard on the news"pack of otters attack hiker" ;) If I were you , I'd be there shooting them a few more times ;) When I find a good subject I go back many times until I get the perfect shot ..then keep going back more :D Bevb 05-07-2006, 01:28 AM We have otters over here but in quite remote places like Scotland and alike, but they are very rare sightings, what a fabulous privilage to be able to photograph such great creatures.Love the 2nd shot. |
