Trying to get a few shots this evening that were a little different once again from what we post from most games. The first one was the pitcher coming hard off the mount to trying to get a pop up fouled off right in front of me, and in front of the visitors dugout. He came up just a shade short and nearly went into the dugout. The second is the start of a run down with short stop forceing the trapped runner toward third. He was out by a mile.

Maybe if he opened his eyes he'd have caught that popup....good catch on your part OT, you should show the coach ...... second thought, maybe not, the poor kid might get a few dozen laps for that one!

OT.......nice captures. I'm starting to focus on the same sort of thing. There are only so many ways you can capture a hitter hitting, a pitcher pitching, and a runner running, etc. After a few hundred of those shots, I've pretty much got everyone out of the way, and now I'm looking for the kinds of shots you mention. The SWM Devil Rays made a roster change this week, so I have to get some shots of the new guy, and try to get a cd out to the guy who they sent down.

JS he may have had his eyes closed but he was going full out and had come a very long ways to get as close as he did. I was scrambling too trying to crank the zoom back from 300 to 70 and keep this guy in focus as he came straight at me. I was amazed he was a sharp as he was.

Your right John when you are pretty much covering one team it doesn't take long to get most of the standard pitcher, hitter shots. I was hoping tonight to be a little more creative with what I shot and posted.

Great pics as always OT. I wonder how the boy in the first pic would feel about the pic. I know my son would die! lol

This youngman is a very special kid. He not only was the third ranked quarterback in the state last year but was the point guard on the basketball team. This season he is the leading hitter, ace pitcher and best catcher we have. He is very humble youngster. He is a member of my church and his father is my mailman. He would just cast his eyes down and nod his approval if shown the picture. His mother on the other hand has several of my pictures from all the different sports framed on their family room wall.

JETA I'm still waiting on some new images from you.

OT, have these been run through PS? ALl of your photos look underexposed then looks like the correction went wrong. Could you post an unedited shot?

I generally expose for the highlights which in brightlight and white uniforms will cause the overall image to be somewhate underexposed. Shoting in JEPG blown highlight can't be retrived. It's the way I generally prefere to do it.
