Hello everyone,
Well, along with getting a replacement for the camera I lost in a break-in ( ), I also bought the SB600 flash. Here are couple pictures I took in my livingroom learning to use the flash.

Denny...that stinks about your break-in! Sorry to hear that.

I like the 2nd shot quite a bit, but I wish more of the yellow rose was evident...I like the contrast between the two. :)

I like the red and the yellow as well. I think, though, that if you had come it a little tighter to eliminate the background totally, I would like these better.

The second works best. The first shot seems too hot and the background doesn't add to the shot. The second fills the frame more with the subject and contrasting yellow rose.

I like both of them myself. With a few more touches and a background sheet or cardboard thingie, they could be really outstanding shots!

Here's a few touches on # 1. The second is "posterized", whatever that is.

The "posterized" version is very artistic. Kinda like a 70s album cover in my mind.

I think you have done a fantastic job! The colours are beautifully rich.
I actually prefer the original with the bg in it. It adds a nice feeling of depth.
Although if you wanted to get rid of the bg then I think maybe a black bg may have worked better.

Hello everyone,
Thanks for the comments.

I saw Greg's changes and thought I try editing the picture also.
