Thats NOT wild! This IS wild.....16 weeks old, tore up the couch, my chair, my bed (box spring) and is at present terrorizing the cat (who's in heat).
She eats everything in site....including clothes.

JS CRATE TRAIN THAT DOG!

I could never get into crate training....just something about locking up a dog in a tiny crate...and how would I want to be locked up there.
My sister loaned me a crate and Cassie goes in it when she's bad.....last night she went in before I put her in!

Ah, but you are looking at it wrong. That crate becomes security to them. It all comes from the denning instinct. Once a dog gets older, they are hard to crate train. Your puppy is teething and needs a crew toy. Also I do believe it may be experiencing seperation anxiety if it's chewing while your out.

My thoughts were exactly like yours when I got my neo puppy. It dug holes in floors, folded doors , ate everything I own! I tried to train him at 10 months old and he wouldn't have it.

I was going to jump in and say the same thing as Paul, about the security aspect of the crates...in fact, my dog Mugsy needed a smaller crate as a puppy, because he wanted things cozier...he cried in a bigger one, and had a really hard time if he was left out...but with the slightly smaller one, he was happy.
Both my doggies have crates that they are in while we go out...we have them sleep in our room and my daughter's room at night now though.

the sire and dame were both blue merle, but there were a few tri's in the bunch as well. He seems prodominantly blue so i would say blue.

and yes crate training can be effective, but use it properly - you dont want it to be uneffective, and you dont want them to depend on the crate....

Actually she isn't a problem when I'm gone, but when I am sleeping or outside working. When I am gone she just sleeps in my chair.
