On a trip i took over the easter break i thought i would have a go at trying to see if i could capture swallows feeding over the river we were camping next to, it was'nt until i got back to check pictures i realised i had captured these shots of them. :)

That first one is a great shot! The water drops frozen in the air like that seal the picture!
Nice catch!

I agree with walterick, that top one is sweet. I have tried a few time to do exactly what you did and after 400+ frames I came back with maybe 12 focused frames ;)

Ain't gonna do it.
Tried it last night. Most of the time, I couldn't even follow them in the viewfinder let alone get one locked on, composed, and focused. I imagine it's like trying to shoot a flying butterfly with a pellet gun.
Got one that was an almost passable lucky shot. Erased it though thinking I could get a better one later.
Great shooting on your part.
Thanks Loupey, they were not easy, i must of just had a steady hand and lady luck on my side that day.

OK, Bev, I got one yesterday. Nothing like the your first one there. These guys would swoop in, circle once or twice, and leave for 5-10 minutes at a time. Not much of any opportunity. Shooting dragonflies in midflight is easier :p
Hope you don't mind me using your thread.
Great one Loupey! its quite addictive this action shooting isnt it. Of course i didnt mind you using my thread.
