I also am shooting my kids baseball games in a week, would you be willing to share with me what settings you were using in the first pic with the green grass? I have a new camera and I am trying all different settings, so why not ask someone that is getting the results that I want.

In picture styles use Standard. On some 1D's you may have to over expose by one or two steps to get correct exposure. Use sRGB color space.
In the Menu look for Histogram Display #1 choise is Brightness, Open a photo (Display) make sure your in the middle, not all to one side or the other. Then go back to the Histogram Display and switch to RGB. There you can see how the Red Blue and Greens are, they should be fairly even. If not one of the colors may be clipping. The colors are set by color temperature. Using the corect white balance in Standard mode should give you pretty good results. Some times though you need to adjust the WB. Especially in gyms with yellowish lighting. The simple way to do it is shoot something white or gray and see if the color is correct, if not set your WB manually. A yellowish tint means you have to go colder (lower number) Hotter is higher number. Your grass being yellow is and indication you need to go colder.
On the 1D MKII N you can also adjust individual color temps as well.
