OK, so I cheated and snapped these while the birds were tethered, but they were just so gorgeous! The first is a European Kestral (part of an educational exhibit), and the second is a Red Tailed Hawk. This particular hawk is trained to hunt for his handler. I wasn't able to see the demonstration, which would have been very cool I imagine.
Wonderful shots Obie, great DOF even though the birds head is at different angles youve caught the eye of the bird clear and sharp.:)

The key to wildlife imagery is keep the eye sharp. Nice images, but your birds are actually western subspecies of redtailed hawk on top and the kestrel on the bottom.

Kestrel is nice, lovely and sharp focus, the red-tailed looks a little soft on the eyes.
I had a day flying hawks last year for my birthday, no good photos though :(
