I have been looking at all of the 80-200s for a while and have some questions.
Is this the older version of the current AF-D 80-200?
If anyone has it how does it function?{Af etc.}

Also are these two lenses the same just one is showing a little more use?

Well, none of these links works fully, due to no cookies stored on my computer. Once I got in , every link took me to the only lens I viewed the specs on.

80-200 F2.8 D MACRO ED WITH TRIPOD MOUNT (77) WITH CAPS 35MM SLR AUTO FOCUS ZOOM TELEPHOTO LENS

Which is the current AF-D lens. The one before that model was a AF macro without the D :) The one after that was the AFS model.

I have the AF-D lens and (though I hardly used it) it rocked and still does.

All the same things that Paul said and...

I also have that lens - well, at least the one Paul is describing. It has two rings (one for focus, one for zoom) instead of a push-pull zoom, and a tripod mounting foot. Previous version was the push-pull and it's also supposed to be excellent but I don't like push-pull zooms (personally). This lens will need a tripod foot because it's big and heavy.

AF-S came out after which focuses slightly faster, and the AF-S VR is current.
