Kelt - Well, I've done some web-browser scrolling up and down and found that I like it a lot better without the sky. Perhaps the blue is too distracting. Seems a tad bit soft, esp for a MF camera, but perhaps the scanning process did that. Its also a little clipped off at the bottom. Could you catch this at sunrise or sunset? The lighting is a tad bit flat also.

Here's an idea - crop off the top half of the photo and fill the blue sky with another darker color, eg dark grey, or even a wicked dark multicolor. That might make it appear a little more mysterious or threatening. NE houses look like they're taylor made for haunted house themes.

I agree with GB in regards to the crop, it definitely would help the shot out. Also, having the sunrise/sunset would add some great lighting dynamics.

Well done,

Jared

Tom,

This place looks very familiar! Actually I know exactly where it is. I frequently go to Stockbridge - one of my favorite places. For me personally, it's the best of both worlds. I love the town, and I always enjoy walking around - including frequent visits to the Normal Rockwell Museum. It is also a great place for me to make a retreat at the Shrine of Divine Mercy. Behind the Chapel there, you can probably see the entire Berkshires. Also - can't forget Tanglewood - the Boston Pops Orchestra's summer home.

Now for the image. :) You've done a great job with the composition. I've shot a few of that house, but could never quite get a decent angle. You captured it nicely. The color is also impressive - and personally I like the sky. Very nice.

Liz … Thanks for your kind words. I truly enjoy time spent in the Berkshires and always bring my camera alone. Soon to come … Main St. Stockbridge @ X-Mas.

Jered … Should I happen to be in Stockbridge @ 9AM I’ll shoot it again … ‘tis a 3 hour drive from my home.

GB1 … The shy is courtesy of Mother Nature … we’re stuck with it. BTW the camera is old, the scanner is old and so is the operator of both! I do not have a clue how to change the blue shy to another color.

The picture is my ¿ 46/47/48 ? year old friend. It is the no frills model.
