I probably have about 5 more months of collecting money before i can buy a D70s, but is there a specific store with great prices/reliability?

I have a D70 that I bought from Ritz Camera. Price was about what everyone else was selling, and when I took it back to have them send it in for a check up before the warrenty expired, it went out quick and got it back a week or two later.

Actually I have a Fuji, but I bought it at B&H. Pricing was great and they always ship fast and reliably. A lot of people here use them as their first-call place for gear.

B&H Photo.

Great prices, great service, and they don't take two weeks getting it to you.

I got my D50 through buydig.com. They were great, no trouble at all.

I've bought stuff through B&H...great service...
I Bought my Nikon through Ritz Camera...great service
I bought One Pentax through local company...The Camera Company (I like online shopping better, but they were o.k.)
I bought the other Pentax through Dell Computer along with 2 Sandisk Ultra II cards and 2 50-200mm Lenses. On the site it said the 2 cards and 2 lenses were on backorder and could take until April 3rd to ship. I was pleased when I had them all within the week (and April 3rd is still a week away). Even tho' I only paid for one overnight shipment, each of the items were shipped as soon as they were ready as overnight, no additional charge. My only complaint was the way they were packaged for shipment. IMHO, they needed more packing to keep them from knocking around in the box during shipping. It's a moot point, because all work fine.

In the northern Delaware/Philadelphia region, I highly recommend "Cameras, etc." Great store, and superb service -- prices competative with B&H on many items, including the D70 and D200.

honestly - employee discounts, or, more specifically store COST is what to get it at. I work at a place that sells entry level DSLR's (youd never see a 1ds there) and the price i find on the internet is never much cheaper then that. like teh rebel xt - like $680or $700 or something like that.

moral of the story - befriend a dealer ;).

In Canada, our choices are rather limited in most regions: Henry's or Downtown Camera and that is it for a very large area.

Like a few others, I got mine at B&H. It's a fun store to be in. If only parking wasn't so expensive in the city, I'd probably go to B&H more often.

If you can go to the pro photo store in your area, and buy locally. Many times the price locally is a better price after you add in the shipping. Some of the cut rate online stores over charge for shipping and also on the accessorys.
