Hi: I recently started a new business to earn extra income on eBay. I am selling women's clothing and I have to take pix to sell them. I purchased a Nikon D-50 outfit. Now that I've bored you with my life story, here's my issue: when I shoot the clothing, which comes in an array of colors I am not getting equal lighting on the garments and I am getting shadows off of the white wall (I shoot in my kitchen usually at night). I also use whatever lights I have around the house for lighting and that isn't really helping. I think that it's time to step up to some real lighting and maybe a flash if needed. I am a total beginner and can't afford to spend a fortune, I just want to get good quality photos that accurately show the items and the color of the items that I am selling. Can anyone suggest a book or DVD that will help me learn how to do what I am trying to accomplish? Also, I would like a list of everything that I will need to set up this studio and I am hoping that some of you experienced photgraphers have some easly solutions and suggestions. Thanks so much!

Welcome to the site, dg. As you might imagine, what you ask is one of the most common topics in this forum. So, feel free to browse the forum archives as I'm sure you'll find many others who have asked the same things before.

Can't help you with the book (check Amazon, sure they have a ton), but for a decent studio equipment list, look no further than Michelle's recent thread:

She's pretty much got it covered. No, you don't NEED all of that gear to begin with. Basics would be one or two lights, stands, umbrellas and reflectors...
