Photo-John 02-23-2006, 04:43 PM I think you need to buy an accessory remote shutter release. They got you on that. By the way, I was just looking at your post on the Nikon forum. Don't worry about the 20D being obsolete. The 30D has some nice improvements over the 20D. But for most people I don't think they're going to make a big difference. Plus, you'd have to wait to buy one, and you'd pay more. The next couple months will be a great time to buy a 20D. I'm thinking about finally replacing my 10D with a used 20D. mikishots 02-24-2006, 09:09 PM I think you need to buy an accessory remote shutter release. They got you on that. This not entirely true - ina all markets so far where the 30D is being sold, it's typically 10 to 15% cheaper than the 20D, and PMA literature shows that it will be the same margin in North America. greghalliday 02-25-2006, 06:27 AM Speaking of remote releases, why does Canon have to have three different sockets for theirs. I just spend a bunch of money on a 20D and still have to drop a hundred on a "pro" release. My "amateur" release for my Elan 7 doesn't work. I really like that the higher end Nikons have a thread on the release button instead of some dedicated input. Why can't Canon do this? RebelXT-WH2CYK 03-02-2006, 12:46 PM what I did for my long exposure remote was get a cell phone headset, cut off the connector end, and turn on mirror lock, then push the shutter once, and fit in the connector to open the shutter.. stays open till you remove the connector. easy way of saving a few bucks |
