View Full Version : January Photo Project: Public Restrooms
Well Kiddies, It's that time again. Time to for the first Project of the new year!!!
Well last month didn't quite get the response I was hoping for, but her not every topic can be a winner. This month I am going back to a suggestion from early '05. This is a theme that I have been wanting to do ever since I first heard of it.
PUBLIC RESTROOMS
So lets see some creative and interesting portraits, angles, and well, toilets!!!!
Well, as always I will get things started. I have had this one in the pipe for some time, just waiting for this Project!

This is public certainly. How restful, who knows?
Some good shots so far. I'll try to restrain myself from posting to many of this nature :D
From my church. Taken with my KM Dimage Z2 f/8.0 about a five second exposure, manually flashed with a vivitar 283 bounced off the side wall.
dbutler 01-04-2006, 01:31 PM I was wondering what I was going to do with this shot. Thanks for the opp! Here's my PR for PR (it's the ladies' room where I work this past holiday season).
CLKunst 01-04-2006, 02:21 PM From last night. . . .an intersection of bathroom mirrors
Here is one I played with filters and such on.
I call it, 'The Color of Anticipation"

That's a neat self portrait. It took me FOREVER to find it though, but I am slow like that :p
Axle... what can be said, those are some pretty creative angles, and nice lighting for such a mundane subject.

Hey Ken, I hope you will repost. I was looking forward to your images, and was all bummed out to see that you deleted the posting.
Hey guys!
I am loving these pics. I am going to try and add one more myself. School has made it next to impossiable to get out with my camera, but I am going to try and squezze something in before the month is out.
Keep posting!
ken1953 01-25-2006, 06:45 AM Lets try this again...Ok...much better!!
No. 1 is a crop of #2 but when I saw the reflection in the paper holder, I felt I needed to post the full version as well...
No. 3...I liked the angles and reflections!!!
No. 4...I liked the way the holes and water formed a citrus tree. hehe...
In a recent post in the Photography as Art forum, I asked the question, "How far would you go for your art?"...well...I really never thought I'd be doing this....hehe...but I guess that's why this forum is so great, because it gives us opportunities to try new things we may never have done!!!
Hope you like!!!
Ken
p.s...these are also posted in full size in the Photo Project forum!!!

I cannot beLIEVE I'm able to use this picture!
It's not at all creative, no composition whatsoever. However, it is exotic ... it's an underground public ladies loo in Covent Garden, London. It has special meaning for me ... I spent a portion of New Year's Eve here, after several hours in a nearby bar. :D
I just had to go back and take a souvenier snapshot.
