Juzzus,

I am not sure about that one. Your composition and the colors are plain beautiful but the foreground command too much attention. Then, I try to see how it would like if the foreground was to be cropped and it still feels odd to me.

I realize that my comment isn't very accurate. I apologize for not being able to formulate my impression more precisely.

This shot has a nice feel to it. Love the title and the real eye in the sky "the sun" in this case. I think you've exposed this perfectly. Though the foreground might be too bright for this type of shot. I think it takes away from that feeling the rest of the shot is conveying.

Another thing. Do you hate horizons? You always seem to obstruct the horizon with a structure. Just wondering what the horizon did to you to deserve such treatment ;) .. .. by: concerned citizen.

I like the idea of the inclusion of the fore ground but unfortunately it is not very attractive to do justice to the rest of the picture. The little breaking wave is lovely. I understand what Leels is saying about the horizon ( I have noticed this on recent shots of yours) but I would like to see it included in another similar image, for comparison, before saying that it should be included in this one. I'm wondering if the inclusion of two horizontal features would take away from each other.
It's possible that the structure is a very good substitute for the horizon.
But I can easily roll back and admire what is a very attractive scene in that nice black mattboard surround.

You're right Tom. This is probably not the appropriate shot to discuss Horizon Torture :) The structure seems to do just fine and like you said looks like a great substitute for the horizon here.

Juzzus, the horizon bit was more of a general observation and not particular to this shot.

Very good. The crop and dimensions are very proportional and draw the eye straight up the middle of the photo. The foreground is visually very interesting, and the sun in the clouds is nicely placed. I have no problems with the horizon. It is fine, as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, this photo is one of contrasts. Here you have a beautiful sunset and nice pier and great reflections in the water, leading you right to a foreground that almost appears to be a garbage dump  The black framing is quite pretty also, btw.

Might want to scout out an area a little down the coast for a prettier beach. You've done a lot with what you have here, but maybe it's time to expand your horizons?
