I had posted a couple of these before a few months ago, but while archiving & backing up stuff, I found a few more that I liked.

These were shot at a WWII re-enactment at Fort Ord, CA last September. All shot with a Nikon D1h & Sigma 135-400.

It was really cool to check out, especially since I LOVE pretty much anything from the 30's-40s. The best part of all was the tank crashing through part of the old barracks. It apparently was an accident, but the crowd loved it. The tank never saw action during the war, but I believe the jeep and a few other vehicles that they had there did see action. They also had three vets who were medics during the war. One was with the 82nd, while the other two were from the 506th, 101st Airborne.

Cools shots all, and the black and white treatment is perfect!!!

I'm something of a history buff, so I love this stuff.

Even if aircraft are my forte'.

Very cool photos. I was wondering...do you know if they shoot blanks? Or do they just pretend to shoot? Blanks can still be dangerous because stuff still comes out, you can't be too close.

They were shooting blanks, having to replace magazines, and you knew when either the artillery or the tank fired, cause it was LOUD :)

That's pretty cool. Ha ha...I think I'd be kinda nervous about being shot at. Blanks or not.
