Here's a shot of the shore line in Lima. The small white spec at the bottom is a person just to illustrate the scale of this.

A wonderful shot. I like the color bands. It seems even more surreal before the mind figures out the scale from the tire tracks. I have to wonder what processes resulted in the beach's contours. I like the composition you chose. I also like this with the top cropped so that the waterline is about in the center of a real long panorama.

Absolutely tremendous image Lee! I love the colors and textures of this and the scale is AWESOME. Even though I read the white speck was a person it still took my brain a second to adjust to the idea. SO COOL!!!!

Leels,

This is beautiful, I love the paterns and the scale of things here.

To me it looks like the chap is standing looking over the edge at the patterns and contemplating climbing down. Takes a while to spot him as there is so much to look at.

How high up were you and what were you standing/sitting on?

Wonderful, tremendous, and beautiful have been used. You can add awesome to that list. Great sense of scale.the tips of the waves appear to be hovering. Perfect.

Beautifully captured image. Well done to have seen the natural pattern but even better to have framed it such. Very enjoyable.

Have you control over nature or something. A scene perhaps never to be seen again and you nailed it beautifully. brilliant.

People pretty much said it all. I'd simply add that one of the first thing (if not the first thing) that drew my attention here is the variety of textures and how they jump at me even it you shot this from a good distance. That is most unusual.

Chunk,
The shore looks like that because the water carved out little pockets in the pebble beach. If you look at the edges of the water, where ever the water looks like it's being held back, small mounds or hills of pebbles are infact holding the water back. So where the water comes a little further is indeed the areas between the mounds of pebbles. You can see this a bit clearer if you look to the sides where the little hills/mounds become a bit more apparent. Thanks.

CLKunst,
That's why I had to mention the white speck (little guy) because it's hard figuring the scale of this on one's own. :) Thank you.

Roger,
I was on the cliff just above. In fact the whole city is on a cliff and one must climb down to reach the beaches. here's a closer look at the chap and a view of the cliffs. Thanks Roger.

mdmc, Tuna,
Thanks a lot guys.

Brendan,
While I can't discuss my control over nature ;) I can assure you that you can see the exact same scene if you visit Lima. Thanks man.

Seb,
Yeah, there's lots of textures. It's starts off with the sand, then the pebbles then the water foam then the waves then the deeper water, etc. Thanks Seb.

Beautiful shot! I have a feeling that the wave is going to eat the man with its tongues. Very nice!

Surf's up! ! !

This is a wonderful shot of nature at its best. With or without the person for scale it has good symmetry and color without being geometric.

In full size the only change I might make would to make it wider by cropping some portion from the top but I'm not sure?

Have enjoyed the Peruvian images!

Just like everyone else, all I can say is, Wow, Great Shot.. That has to be some climb after seeing to view of the cliffs.. Even if everyone can see that same scene you really did capture it that might be hard to capture again. So I must say again WOW.....

drg,
I tried cropping off some of the top but we lose the vibrant blues on the top that way. That turns this in to murky waters sorta. Atleast this way the eye sees a glimse of the deeper parts of the water. Thanks man.

James,
Actually yeah the climb is a bitch. Really wide steps. Going down wasn't so much a problem but coming back up was a great exercise :D Thanks James.

Thanks mud.

Really impressive scale!!! I love the sea! Congratulations for a really good picture. The fact that there's only one person helps a lot to show how small are us to the whole of the world.

Thanks guys. Well judging from the response this has been my most successful shot from Lima thus far. And Roberto, just to save you a heart attack I'll promise not to add those borders for the next shots I'll post. Just for you!!! :)
