This is a picture that I took while on a trip to Seattle, I have found many people that do not like this picture. I would like to know what everyone here thinks.......and be honest, I can handle the brutal truth! LOL

Chow,
This is one of those images that could really benefit from some play with the higlights/shadows tool in photoshop if it's to be rescued from snapshot mediocrity. The water is exposed well but has caused the rest of your scene to become over exposed. This is a place where one of those fancy gradient filters would have really come in handy if you HAD to shoot at this time of day. While I like the idea of a reverse sea side view and think you could really have some fun exploring that idea not only here but in other locations as well, there are some definite problems created by the strong sunlight that can't be over-looked.
If you get the chance to go back there I would suggest shooting this scene again at different times of the day when the light is not so harsh. Perhaps one in the morning, one in the evening, one at dusk and see if you are more or less pleased with the results. The important thing is not to give up on a good idea just because the first application of it comes out less than ideal. Keep pushing and try, try again. :)

Thanks, at the time of this shoot, I was with my family and was kind of trying to get in pictures before we moved on to the next thing. My husband was there for a business trip so we didn't stay long. I was also shooting with a kodak point and shoot. I appreciate your comments and I would really like to go try this shot again sometime. Also, I do not have photoshop yet, my husband is going to be getting the adobe photoshop cs really soon. I can't wait to start playing with that. Thanks for the critiquing!
