Hello all,

I have been away for quite a while. I was too busy printing! In early november, I was taking part to a workshop held by Michael Reichmann (the Luminous Landscape) in an old industrial complex in Toronto.

Here is one shot from that new series. Comments are welcome as usual!

Really cool pic. Love how the main light is on the door and wall, then most of the background is mostly in shadows. Really helps to focus attention on the door. Is that some kind of conveyor running up at an angle from the door?

The tones of the metal door and brickwork are lovely. But there is an interesting dark area near the rear that would benefit with a little light.

Thanks for commenting. The building is an old bricks factory that was shut down decades ago. I believe that the main element is some sort of oven for the bricks but I couldn't confirm this to you without any doubt.

Tom, Thanks for commenting. I agree with your comment yet I disagree. The problem here as I see it is that there are elements of interest everywhere. The inside of the building is overly busy. I am concious of the fact that interesting details are lost in the darkness but it seems to me that I could kill the mood if I was to brigthen and/or dodge the scene too much. I do understand your point tough.

Seb, I agree with your reply to Tom. There are many interesting areas in this scene that could be uncovered, but I feel the mood and mystery here keeps it simple and effective. The lighting on the door is very effective in keeping a strong focal point. Well done.
