We've had great participation and oustanding images in the last three "show me" threads. Let's have another photographic "conversation" on butterflies. Remember, it doesn't have ot be your best-ever photo to participate. We're just sharing different viewpoints.

Here's one of mine. I shot this in a butterfly garden and don't know what it is. I don't think it is a US species.

This is a swallowtail, I think. From Virginia.

I'm pretty sure I've posted these before on viewfinder, but here they are again. One is a Lorquin's Admiral and the other an Edith's Checkersport, both native to So. Cal.The last one is a Swallowtail shot in Nor. Cal, Sierra Mountains.

Lava Lamp, that is a beautiful Butterfly. Sure wish you could tell us the species. And it looks as if it has had a few close run-ins with birds.

This is an old scan from Kodachrome. I took it in the late 80s. It was mid-autumn and I doubt this straggler lasted much longer.
