View Full Version : Show Me Your Eagles... Lava Lamp 10-31-2005, 11:47 AM These are captive birds from Grant's Farm in St. Louis (unable to return to the wild due to injuries.) Show me yours. Lava Lamp 10-31-2005, 11:48 AM One more. For those of you who may visit St. Louis, Grant's Farm is a free zoo-like park run by the Anheuser Busch family. mjs1973 10-31-2005, 04:52 PM All these were shot in the wild. mjs1973 10-31-2005, 04:58 PM I think I posted the last one a long time ago. SmartWombat 11-01-2005, 02:00 PM Not all eagles, I admit SmartWombat 11-01-2005, 02:32 PM Oh and one last uncooperative bird paulnj 11-01-2005, 06:48 PM Oh and one last uncooperative bird OK.... We all know the full adult(5 yr plus) bald eagle has a white head, but..... Smart wombat has a 4yr old bald(and a golden eating a squirrel) mjs1973 has one image of a 3 year old bald AND HERE IS A FIRST WINTER BALD EAGLE and a just fledged bald (2 weeks out of the nest) Mind you the fledged image was shot with a 1D/100-400/2XTC in 101 degree july weather AT 500+FEET and cropped. It is a FEDERAL CRIME to get close to a nesting bald eagle and fledglings, but it needed to be documented . The 1st year bald(3-4 months out of the nest) is an old image from 2002/2003 that I had in a folder on my hard drive that I never open. 90% of my bird files are not even at my house(not to mention the 30,000 slides), so I can't post any of the gazillion images of wintering eagles I've taken in the last few years. Lava Lamp 11-02-2005, 06:01 AM Wow. I've only seen a eagle in the wild once. Didn't have my camera. SmartWombat 11-02-2005, 12:39 PM Smart wombat has a 4yr old bald I've been going bald longer than that :) paulnj 11-02-2005, 05:04 PM You crack me up :) SmartWombat 11-03-2005, 12:10 PM One day I hope to make it back to the USA (if they'll let me in) and come to one of the forum meetings. This insistence on biometric ID is s bummer if your country doesn't have it on the passport. paulnj 11-04-2005, 06:37 PM One day I hope to make it back to the USA (if they'll let me in) and come to one of the forum meetings. This insistence on biometric ID is s bummer if your country doesn't have it on the passport. Don't feel bad. My own country gave me trouble trying to GO HOME from Canada 6 years ago! I finally asked the guy if I should just apply for political asylum in Canada and if he might have my mail forwarded to his office until I get a Canadian citizenship? I stated that it was some sort of political bull that I can't come into the country that I have been a registered voter in since 18 ;) I also informed him I was writing my congressman about him holding me up for no reason beyond being tattooed, which is discrimination and against my civil liberties! He let me go home 1 minute later :) OK, back to Nature and Wildlife :) mjs1973 11-05-2005, 08:55 AM Just gettin' things back on track. :) ChowChi-Ching 11-05-2005, 11:23 AM These are really far from very good pictures but this was taken down in florida at the carribean gardens in 2001 with my little Kodak camera............ http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a154/KatzPomDogz/BaldEagle1.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a154/KatzPomDogz/BaldEagle2.jpg paulnj 11-05-2005, 06:23 PM These are really far from very good pictures but this was taken down in florida at the carribean gardens in 2001 with my little Kodak camera............
