These noisy Sandhill Cranes will soon be circling southward on their fall migration. I'll miss seeing them around. The cranes around here are part of the eastern flock who will be passing through Illinois, Indiana and on south to the Florida area. I haven't seen any of the Whoopers that are being reintroduced a bit north of here around Necedah and are tought to migrate by following an ultralight in their first year.

SWEET! There is actually a place in far southern NJ that has a few feral common cranes(european species) and one sandhill that summer there every year.

The whooping cranes are a riot to see flying with an ultralight. I have only seen footage though.
