The following link will take you to a page where you can get EOS1DInfo.exe which, amongst other shot info will give you the total number of shots you have taken... IE: Shutter Actuations. I tried it and although the trial version doesn't give a count it does give a lot of shot info. The full version gives all information

I turned my 1D over just about 1 year ago. I think it will be one year on October 30th. Did I get my money's worth yet?

Can't answer that... Only you know the answer there!
I turned my original 1D over at the Indy 500 this year, oddly, that same day my truck went over 100,000 miles too, and I have just hit 134,000 this past week on the truck
All the abuse that poor ole 1D has put up with and it only has 2 or 3 small spots that are scratched... :)

So I would need to BUY the full version to see how many actuations I have on my 1D?

isn't ther always a catch Paul? Or you could send it to Canon... it will take forever to get it back, plus shipping and handling both ways... software sounds cheaper....

I have just three words: TOO...MUCH...INFORMATION! :D
Seriously, I guess that's a fairly impressive by-product of the digital age...
All I can say is, I'm sure glad I've never cared much about that kind of stuff. To me, it's like a cab driver needing to know how many times they've turned the key to start their car, or opened and closed the trunk...
As long as my cameras get me where I want to go, that's all I worry about. But I suppose it's cool knowing you can get that info if you want it... ;)
