An old zoom experiment I did. I learned after trying these on many different subjects that it only works with certain ones. Kodachrome 64.

Well done, almost makes me feel dizzy. One of the best zoom shots i've seen.

Great shot...the secret to a good zoom shot is to still be able to tell what the subject is...you've done very well here.

BoingBoing, thanks for the comment and info. I've had a lot of them fall flat, maybe it's because they were too unrecognizable and therefore too abstract? Mr Yuck, thx also. I never felt dizzy looking at it but it does remind me of jumping into hyperspace a little.

Well done. Seems like an old album cover.

How do you take a zoomed shot like that?

Thanks Walterick and Lava Lamp. Photo101, it is easy in theory: just use a shutter speed slow enough where you can zoom while it is exposing. I'd say about 1/15 or slower, but it's been awhile - would be ideal to use about 1/4th with the camera on a tripod. It is hard to get right. As BoingBoing pointed out, maybe as long as the subject is recognizable it has a good chance of working. I think the yellow against the black background really helped the cab.
