I know that many of you have heard me say this in response to a wedding thread and someone excited about doing their first wedding shoot. I go to one only when I have too. This of course is in keeping with the old grouch theme that I have promoted here at PR. But honestly I did so many wedding back in the 70's just to support my photography habit that I really got burned out on them. My wife's nephew got married in NY resently and had ask me to do the pictures, I refused gracefully with the comment that I would bring a camera and try to get a few pics that might be a little different than the pro would be getting (they were mostly the standard setup type shots). Well in all honesty I did have a very good time at the wedding and was able to take a few pics that I liked and hopefully they will too. Here are two taken right after the ceremony with an 80-200mm extended all the way and an SB800 for fill. The bride stoped just after the couple left the gazebo and just had to have another kiss and the other is as she was leaving the area for the reception and turned back to say something to a friend.
Well it seems you still have the 'knack'! These are beautiful and I'm sure the ravishing bride and groom will love them!!

Thanks Wendy. I appreciate you taking the time to comment on these. Nice to have you aboard on PR, we do have some very active Aussies here just stick around you'll see them popup.

What a cute couple!
And we know you're not as grouchy as you'd like us to think!

Once a pro, always a pro :) Beautiful shots there OT. I'd be proud to own those shots.
It is much more fun when you're not the official wedding photographer. Unfortunately, I have a hard time saying no, so I end up shooting weddings (usually for free, getting paid just adds to my stress) when I get asked. Been awhile for me though (all my younger cousins and relatives are now happily married and have kids). Maybe when my son and daughter's generation get to marriage age, I'll find myself doing weddings again.
Again, great shots. Any more to share?
Leon.

Thanks Leon, but I never considered myself a pro even then. Just I guy with a camera and habit that needed to be feed. I'm just glad that the results pleased the clients and that I was able to keep buying Nikons.
Old Timer! Great shots you got there, nice spontanious, and may end up being their favourites! Are you going soft on us?
