I would actually love this if the hat weren't so bright.
Also, I think you should either add a little sky at the top, or crop off the top of the structure in the background. As is, it seems like it's not quite right...

I enjoy your picture. I like the idea of the hat on the post. However, I agree with Emily regarding her concern on the brightness of the hat and the crop at the top of the frame.
Personally, I'd include a little more sky so the structure doesn't touch the upper part of the frame.
