Please let me know which one looks better.
I like the color better. She seems to jump out a bit more in the color version.

Thanks Mark. I need to get a post processing program to convert to B&W.
I prefer the color over the b/w. It's kind of unfortunate where the quilt is behind her head as it almost bisects the picture. If the color part of the quilt was the predominant background, I believe it would make for a much better backdrop and photo.

Ok I'm going to be different here, but I prefer the b&w version. The colors of the background detract from the child in the image IMHO. The dead on flash is a little to strong for my taste in the color version, the b&w seems to absorb it a little better and helps to add a little pop to the image. I would like to see a little hi light in the eyes. Did you do some red eye correction here?

She is sitting on the floor in front of her bed hence the balnket. The skin in the color shot has a nice smooth look to it. I attached the fisrt shot before I laid flat on my belly. Thanks for your remarks.

Hey...you know I am a B&W guy so thanks. It is a bad conversion and I have been reading on the programs to convert and will have a add in to help with the conversion.
No, I did not use any red-eye on this shot..I am working in the Fujifilm film mode...this is one of the selling points of the S3. I am starting to get the hang of the digital stuff.

Very cute photo. Great expression on the girl's face. Actually, I like the B&W photo better. One suggestion, use a less busy background that doesn't compete with your subject and pull your subject away from the background to get more separation.

Use a different background for the B&W and I think you have a winner.

Color. I'd blur the background, though. Nice photo.

I like both for different reasons, as OldTimer stated, the b&w version absorbs the flash on her face better. The background looks nicer in color. The bg could use to be blurred some and next time have your subject placed further away from the bg so that it does not come into such sharp focus.
Both versions have their appeal and it really is fine one way or the other.
