How do you reduce the size of a 6-megapixel image to fit for e-mail purposes (without having to scroll up and down)? Can it be reduced in size without causing a reduction in
resolution, color, and clarity? I have tried several times with this software, but the image is still too big to be viewed in an e-mail. I am confused as to how to do this. Any suggestions out there in "camera land"?

Short answer - no.
But you can reduce all of those to an extent, without sacrificing too much.

If it's for email (or posting here) then I use Unsharp Mask, then reduce to 75% of the image size, and repeat that until it gets down to the size I want.

When I used PSE 3...all I did was go to the File menu and chose one of the save options. I can't remember which one saved for email...but think it was "Save As"...but it was quick and simple...I only used the 30 day trial version...so I can't remember the exact steps...but...as I said...it was pretty simple for me to figure out how to do it to be able to put into PR and emails...hope this helps a little...

When you reduce the 6mp file (that's six million pixels), then you're throwing some of them out. By definition, the resolution goes down because of this. Sending a 6mp file by email can be pretty tough, especially if the recipient has dial-up.

You can reduce the image size and still have a high quality image. Most of the images posted here are usually in the 600 pixel range in the long dimension (like 600x400 or 600x450, depends on camera format). I also use this size for emailing.

I don't have PSE3 so I can't give you a step-by-step.
