Well as far as I am concerned the kiwi picture gets the top nod.

Yikes, I think I can tell which are yours and which are hers!

But since I don't know either of you, it doesn't matter. For me, there's a clear winner: the top set. I really love the top two. The first one is a really great macro, and the second one is very strong, and illustrates the topic perfectly.

The use of lighting is very nice in the first set too.

my girlfriend and i are really beginners. any critique on the technique or composition or anything? or let's say there was no theme, which pictures were more appealing? thanks!

The kiwi and the baseballs. Kiwi for color and pattern, and the baseballs for composition.

There was a thread in the recent past of "Green" that might give you some ideas.

I like the top set, merely on the fact that it applies to the green theme the most. The baseball shot is nice, yet I don't feel the 'green' theme going. Great kiwi shot, though a tad soft in the focus, but it works.

Nice shooting,

Jared

Individually the kiwi shot gets the nod as the best shot for the theme. I like the pattern as well.

Collectively, I like exhibit B more than exhibit A. My two cents worth.

Considering the camera's used, I really like the second set's use of light.

The web presentation has better images, and I really like the style of images. They have pretty cool lighting, and in particular, the barrel in the left side of the frame.

I would pick series B by a long shot. Baseball is played on grass, the green barrel, etc. The images are not as direct, but the theme could be applied.

thanks for the comments guys. just to avoid any more confusion, those aren't actually baseballs that i photoshopped green. those are actually once neon green softballs mixed in with white softballs.

I only see the top set, the bottom is four red Xs.

The kiwis for me have bluish (flash?) artifacts on thr first two in the second row form the top, and all over the first one in the third row form the top.
I immegiately thought "these are all a bit green" until I got to the Daffodils.

I'll make a call when I can see both sets (I'll try kicking my computer)
