And I'm very unsatisfied with them- I liked them when I put it together in photoshop... as I used an image of SF that is replicated on my homepage....
but then when I got them back from the printer they came out very matte, the black wasnt strong enough, the cut was sloppy (all along the bottom there are white flakes of paper from where they were cut) and the card was very flimsy.

I am planning on having the company re-run them on better card stock (I dont want glossy, but I dont want flimsy paper either I want a thick stock)

So I guess the point of my post is...
Should I stick with what I've got as a card design or redesign that part as well? I like to keep things fairly simple.
(note, before I posted I changed the grain on the back side not sure which I like better.... the original was the grain on the side with all the detail)

Hey Rebekah,

I would definitely have the company re-do them. It sounds like they didn't do a good job.

Personally, I like your design. It's simple, clean, shows your work, and fits with your description of your photography. I say stick with the design.

My two cents worth. ;-)

Thanks Speedo, I appreciate your feedback. I love the style Nat's incorporated and it works really well for her cards. That got me re-thinking my own... but I like the simplicity of this.

I missed that!
I think you should switch them then.

I think both designs are really good, Rebekah. IMO, if you're going with a two-sided design, I like it the way you have it. The front is more of a splash design or teaser, the back has all the info.

Still, the argument could go either way, I suppose...

I like the design...only suggestion is the space between the website and upper corner info...I love the concept of a sun flare for your image...

Nat- thanks for pointing that out. I dont know how many times I had to adjust that to keep the space to a minimum. Iamsopickyaboutspaces! ;)
Nat your cards were so awesome that your post made me want to rethink my cards!

Steve,
Thanks for the feedback. That was my intention with the name on the front and info on the back... sort of reversed and fun, modern. I cant decide which version of grain I like better, the clumped (which is on the side with the sun flare) or the back, which is the horizontal grain. (with all the info) is it even noticeable?
I am still trying to come up with some sort of "AV" logo for stickers/seals. I dont want to go with AVP, but rather have AV and the word photography. I like using the Franklin Gothic because it is "sans serif" but incorporates the bottom loop for the "g". Its a very clean easy to read and simplistic font.
(can we see a simple trend here?)

Thanks all, I really appreciate the feedback!

I like the horizontal grain. I feel like the text and images should be switched. Crop the black arera some more in the city image and have Arte Villena photography in the bottom black area. and your information on the other side with the sun flare.

Interesting... I'll have to play with that idea. Thank you for that suggestion!
