:confused: There is about a 15-20% loss of saturation and contrast in my images when opening w/ windows as opposed to viewing w/ ps. In otherwords, when I fix an image and save it, it looks different when i use windows to view it.
There must be two different profiles in use. I dont know how to find out what profiles are in use on my computer or ps.
HELP! please,
Mark.

Windows = sRGB and
PS uses what you setup as the profile, e.g. aRGB or your monitor profile.

You need to look at what your Colour settings are in photoshop, and remember that to output for website viewing you either save for the web, or have sRGB as your colour setting in PS.

There has been a bit of discussion about this on this particular forum so if you do a search you will find a bit more info about it as well.

Thank you for posting Peter, I think I have figured it out. I have Elements 2, and it has 3 choices for color management in the edit tab, off, limited for web graphics, and full for printing.
Since my moniter is calibrated, i have turned it off, and now they are the same, as they used to be. I must have turned the color management on to full from off and did not know what I was doing, which is pretty much what I do after turning the computer on!
I will do a search to find out more. My concern was that after edting an image it would look different when posted here.
Thanks again,
Mark.
