Here is another pic taken at Mystic Seaport. I really enjoy this picture and love the look of the barrels. It was difficult to get them all but this was my best shot. What do you folks think?

Hi Nina,
The photo is crisp and the composition is good. I find the colour is a bit unattracting. This may due to the sunlight.

Good comp. Maybe play around with the color in PS or Fireworks or whatever other image editing program you might have.

Probably the best Idea, if possible, is to go there and shoot it at a different time of day, maybe evening, and watch out for the background, a bit crooked.

That is an awesome subject and very well done, Just some suggestions if you want to improve it

I'd crop off the top till the top of the fence and some off the bottom. There's just too much background stuff and the foreground doesn't seem to help it much. I love how the rusted barrel rings are very distinct, that's a huge plus for a picture like this. Nice shooting, and an easy thing to mess around with and try out,

i love the barrels, but i agree - the street beyond in the background is very distracting. focusing on the central image i think is much stronger. if it were me, i would also personally punch up the color a little. but i love the feeling of the barrels :]

Good subject, and I'll be the first to point out that I like the bg included as it gives some relation as to where these are and I find that interesting. I would, however, crop some off the bottom and from the right side. the color, or lack of, does not bother me. And as another pointed out, the rusty rings around the weather washed sun bleached barrels is a great visual.

A great subject you have here Nina. I don't mind the background one bit in this photo. In fact, I didn't even notice it until someone said to crop it out. I guess that could work both ways tho. If it's not noticeable, it doesn't need to be there kind of a thing...
