It was the 17-40, 17 was not wide enough though, wish I could have gotten the whole rainbow into the frame, as well as the second rainbow above it. You can faintly see it in the corner, I got part of it, but it wasn't nearly as vibrant as the first.

Just kidding..... Nice capture.

Also, thanks for the comments in Photo Critique. I've actually worked a number of different versions of that concept and am still not happy with the results. I'll respond their later.

My back was against the wall, literally. :)

It wouldn't help if you could step back. The rainbow would just follow you because the location of the arc is determine by a constant angle between you and the sun (looking away that is).

Yup, last night. We had tornado warning as well. Come to think of it, most of this area had tornado warnings. Spring in Illinois starts with the first tornado warning...
