I feel so bad for people shooting sunsets...they are missing out on spectacular views BEHIND THEM. :D

View Full Version : Suburban Storm Sebastian 03-31-2005, 06:33 AM I feel so bad for people shooting sunsets...they are missing out on spectacular views BEHIND THEM. :D http://www.cmcpics.com/rainbow.jpg Chunk 03-31-2005, 06:39 AM Nice shot Seb. How wide a lens is that? Axle 03-31-2005, 07:07 AM Beautiful shot Sebastian! Sebastian 03-31-2005, 07:26 AM Thanks guys. It was the 17-40, 17 was not wide enough though, wish I could have gotten the whole rainbow into the frame, as well as the second rainbow above it. You can faintly see it in the corner, I got part of it, but it wasn't nearly as vibrant as the first. OldSchool 03-31-2005, 07:38 AM Just kidding..... Nice capture. Also, thanks for the comments in Photo Critique. I've actually worked a number of different versions of that concept and am still not happy with the results. I'll respond their later. BR, Tim Sebastian 03-31-2005, 08:33 AM My back was against the wall, literally. :) OldSchool 03-31-2005, 08:46 AM It wouldn't help if you could step back. The rainbow would just follow you because the location of the arc is determine by a constant angle between you and the sun (looking away that is). Cheers, Tim opus 03-31-2005, 08:54 AM wow...was that last night, Sebastian? We had tornado warnings around here with those storms. another view 03-31-2005, 09:28 AM 17 was not wide enough Would be on a film camera! :p Nice shot. Sebastian 03-31-2005, 09:37 AM Kelly, Yup, last night. We had tornado warning as well. Come to think of it, most of this area had tornado warnings. Spring in Illinois starts with the first tornado warning... Steve, Shut up. ;) Tim, Didn't know that, sorry to dilute the joke. :) jar_e 03-31-2005, 07:12 PM Sebastian, Great shot, the rainbow frames the picture beautifully. Nice shot. adina 04-01-2005, 09:39 AM Saw that one. We were in the Chicago area all this week. I commented to the girls how odd it was to see the whole thing, we usually can only see one end of it. adina Speed 04-04-2005, 11:41 AM I feel so bad for people shooting sunsets...they are missing out on spectacular views BEHIND THEM. And Another View stole my jab - it would have all fit with a film camera. :-O Great shot anyway! Mr Yuck 04-04-2005, 01:09 PM Coulda Photostitched it :P Good shot. |
