Your first post/image on PR!
Brent mentioned in my wedding post that I've gone a long way since I started posting here. It convinced me to go back through my posts to see the first images I posted here. So here they are. It'll be fun to have others post their first & latest to see how much we've all grown since joining here.
My first post, of all things MTB photos. The first two images I'm uploading are from that post. The second two images are from my last Cyclocross race on 1/17/10

Re: Your first post/image on PR!
Is there an easy way to figure out what your first photo posted was? I've been a member here since 2001 or 2002.. I was very active until around 2007 then I fell off the grid so to speak. :)

I think Search only goes back to 2004. - TF

Re: Your first post/image on PR!
I am not entirely positive on my first post here. I am pretty sure it was this photograph, though.
Creamer's Field, Fairbanks Alaska. I have visited this site many times.

This was taken with my second digital camera, a Canon Powershot G2. This was the beginning of my renaissance in photography. I had been involved with it in college, taking a couple of classes, but the interest had faded.
In early 2004 I purchased a Powershot S30, I took it on a trip of a lifetime: Prudhoe Bay Alaska. I was so impressed with the photos it took, and the ease of taking, re taking, developing, printing etc. that my interest was re-kindled in photography.
When I returned from Prudhoe Bay, I gave the S30 away and purchased a G2. From there it's been a steady diet of upgrading and shooting, until recently, I seem to have lost the spark for some reason.

I feel your pain.. I went through a slump that lasted almost 3 years. I was miserable! What finally got me out of mine was the purchase of a Nikon 10.5mm f2.8 Fisheye lens.. I had a great time shooting with it and it truly did rekindle my photog flame.

My apathy was triggered by a move from the mountain west to North Carolina. I am thinking of purchasing a Panasonic GF1. Maybe that'll jump start me again. I don't know.
Do I sell my 30D? Do I sell my 30D and 5D and pick up a 7D? Do I sell my 30D and 5D and pick up a 5DII? Sell the 30D/5D and pick up a 1 series? All of the above options include purchasing a GF1 and 14-140, or 14-45 and 45-200 in addition.
I have been searching for the small camera solution for use in an airplane cockpit, that still takes excellent quality photos, and has decent range. I have a G9 right now, but it's a little short on range for what I am looking for. I am still taking a hard look at the Panasonic Zs3, but I dislike the lack of manual controls.

Those are some tough choices..
I purchases the Lumix Zs3 a couple months ago and absolutely love it. You won't be disappointed and it's nice to just let the camera take over every now and again.

im not positive this is it, and i don't have any subscriptions to any threads. but this was one of the early ones.... and still one of my better photos, i think (just due to the luck of being in the right place at the right time... ) i just wish i had better equipment at the time. i should probably go back and re-edit the clouds so they aren't so blown out like that.

thanks, like i said right place at the right time. i had committed my self to getting "unique" shots of delicate arch, while i lived in moab... so i was there fairly often, this shot coincided with a full moon and sunset... as well as a passing thunderstorm.

I think I remember that shot since I have one taken possibly at the same spot, just mine is a wider angle shot. Was this spot near a bench/rock outcropping off Skyline?
Re: Your first post/image on PR!
I never subscribed to any threads until recently when I started moderating the Project Forum.
So, I looked at attachments in my profile and this is the earliest date I saw.

Re: Your first post/image on PR!
Interesting tread Scott. I have no idea what the first image I posted was and the search only goes back to 2004. I did find my first post on the new forum in Feb. 2004. The gist of it was that I had to re-register with a new screen name. I post a picture I had posted previously just to figure out the posting procedures. This image was originally posted some time in 2003 shortly after I purchased my first digital camera a Fuji S602Z. I still have the camera and Joy used it last weekend to shot a family birthday celebration. Still works great after 7 years.
