    Your 2007 Photography Goals
Well, I'll be the first to admit that I didn't do so well with my goals for 2006.

So what are your goals for 2007?

    Mine are:

    1) Continue working on goals from 2006, especially #2 and #4.
    2) Organize my first photo shoot (subject is going to be wedding related).
    3) Keep up with my blogging.
    4) Get back into shooting sports on a regular basis.

1- Improve my shooting skills in general
2- improve my post work flow and learn more about PS
3- to shoot more racing events
4- Actually get a shot that gets more than 3 comments in the critique section and maybe even stir some emotion.

    Re: Your 2007 Photography Goals
    1) Learn to shoot more: when I go out to shoot photographs I usually only come back with a very small number, usually under 25, I freak out when people often post how they shot 200+ shots.
    2) Learn how to post process effectively. That mean plunking down the bucks for photoshop.
    3) Get out more....no more sleeping in.
    4) Re build my web site.

To get back up and running after computer meltdown. A power supply blew out one computer including motherboard, 2 hard drives, 1 CD drive, a DVD burner, a network card, a dial up modem and perhaps a DSL modem. Then of course there needless to say was a lot of photos and programs and even legal stuff that was wiped out as well.

    Re: Your 2007 Photography Goals
    Not in any particular order.

    1) Plan my shots more. (I started thinking last couple months, just haven't shot any photos yet)
    2) Learn how to use light better, mixing ambient and flash etc.
    3) Get some more off camera lighting and accessories. :D
    4) Find my own style/myself in photography.
    5) Would like to start shooting portraiture this year.
    6) Go on a nature photo shoot (3 days min). Preferably by myself.

    That's enough for now. Items 1, 2 and 4 should happen naturally if I accomplish 3, 5 and 6.

Oh, one more, get some fast Pentax prime glass, 50mm and 100mm.

    Last year's were:

    • Have fun
    • Try to get more exhibition acceptances, and work towards a BPE
    • (British Photographic Exhibitions) crown award
    • try and photograph more British wildlife
    • try and produce some photo essays

So this year's will be all of the above plus

    • Try to gain RPS distinctions
    • Produce some good shots from a safari to Botswana and if possible try and be able to produce a lecture from this trip
    • and try to tie the photo essay objective into shooting the Reading Renegades American Football team

      http://www.renegadesafc.com/
    • Improve my wedding photography

My wife and I are off to New Zealand in about 68 days for a couple of weeks and after looking at everyone's skills on here I have a lot of work to do  Here are some of my goals for 2007.

    1. To take better and sharper pictures.
    2. To learn my camera and master full manual mode.
    3. To take more automotive related pics (car shows/Drag Racing etc.)
    4. Take more action shots.
    5. Buy more camera gear (extra batteries, memory cards and a 50mm f 1.4 lens)

    To break my camera.

That way, if I fail at my new years resolution, I wont have broken my camera, and if I succeed, I'll have done something very uncommon: live up to my resolution :D

But really: I resolve to get a tripod that doesnt randomly collapse and to USE it.

    Re: Your 2007 Photography Goals
    1) To shoot more:
I really want to find the time to play more with my camera, because the more I play with it, the better I understand it and I become better with my picture and it gives content to add for a portfolio

    2) To understand photography better:
I want to know some good fundementals about it, it's history and how the equipment works. Also getting to understand of which tones to use and how to just tell better stories with each picture. I am still fairly new at it, but already I see big improvement compared to when I first got it -- the manual mode is finally making sense! I actually have my first photography course in university starting next week, can't wait for it!

    3) Better Equipment:
I want to buy a nice travelling bag that fits my photographer needs. Something to put the tripod in, to carry the camera and its case(to buy a case to protect it... a big sweater wrapped up can only do much... lol!) And to buy a tripod which I'm getting next week :)

Well that's all I guess for now, without being lazy these goals are achievable I think.

While I'm at it, I'd like to wish everyone a happy new year!

    However, for brevity's sake:
    1. Not get plantar fasciitis
    2. Build my photo business
    3. Quit my day job
    4. Get back into creating my fine art
    5. Force myself to learn digital better (spits)
    6. Not eat so many Christmas cookies

    Happy 2007!

LOL, I will go along with # 6 for sure!

I can only imagine how hard you are fighting digital. You will be fine and love it once you get used to PhotoShop. :)

Thanks! Photoshop isn't the problem for me - I've been using it since 3.0. It's the camera part that I dislike intensely!

    3. be a hardass

This would be most important. I need to stick to what I say and not make so many exceptions because I feel sorry for someone or want to help them.

Wow those are beautiful! We will be on the north island doing lots of driving and sight seeing. All of my wife's family is in New Zealand and in the Sydney area. We will probably move to either New Zealand or Australia at some point when we start a family for at least a year. I am a certified car nut and I love the cars down there. At least in Australia. We went there for Christmas/New Year's 2003. I wish we'd get the UTE's up here in the States.

Man, Ronocco! That's a huge bummer!

    for myself
1.Get that daffodil shot that's in my head
    2. Learn how to use my camera settings better.
    3. Learn photoshop better.
    4. Figure out how to get decent prints back, (might have to pay for screen calibration).
    5. Figure out how to use the external hard drive I just bought.
    6. Find someone who will model for portraits.
    7.Try to remember my goals.

I hope everyone accomplishes theirs plus.

    Okay, here's my real goal.

If things continue as they are going, I will be getting space by July. Not studio space, but office space. I need to get out of my house, and have somewhere people can come to. If they came here, they'd likely get peed on.

You'll finally get it trained and then it'll get 11 or 12 and start the whole process over again. Carpet is tough, but white vinegar mixed with you favorite cleaner works well on tile and laminate.
