So this year's will be all of the above plus

    • Try to gain RPS distinctions
    • Produce some good shots from a safari to Botswana and if possible try and be able to produce a lecture from this trip
    • and try to tie the photo essay objective into shooting the Reading Renegades American Football team

    • Improve my wedding photography

Change of plan; sadly the trip to Botswana has been cancelled

    1. Shoot something everyday of the year!
    2. Learn to use my equipment's full set of features.
    3. Learn how to use Photoshop better.
    4. Revamp my website.

Thus far, I'm sticking to #1. It's a lot tougher than I expected with everything else that's going on. I'm hoping that it will break me out of my comfort zones and force me to improve in all areas of composition/exposure.

Oh man, have I got a lot of goals. I don't expect to actually make all of this happen, and in a couple of weeks I will have probably changed my mind about half of these, but at the moment this is what I hope to accomplish in '07.

    1. Make some progress in figuring out what kind of photographer I want to be...landscape, portrait, street, fine art, digital, film, color, black and white...I don't expect to pick just one of these, but I can't decide what to focus on or what I like the most. This is going to depend on the following goals.
    2. Learn more about shooting portraits, build a small portfolio, and shoot one for money.
    3. Become a better editor....My favorite shots are never the ones that other people like the most.
    4. Fork over the change for monitor calibration equipment and maybe a new monitor.
    5. Improve my post processing workflow in both skill and efficiency.
    6. Get some decent street shots of life in Austin.
    7. Make a "business" card, a model release form, and a small portfolio to carry when street shooting.
    8. Shoot a series of photos in an editorial style, to tell a story. (I can dream, can't I?)
    9. Create a blog on photographyreview.com, so I can bore you folks with my idealized ramblings on a regular basis.

    Good luck to everyone.
