    Bruges

    Hi Everybody!

I finally finished going through my vacation photos. These are from Bruges, Belgium, which is pretty much like Heaven for beer drinkers and photographers. The beer was cheaper than water and it tasted sooo good. Anyway, here are a few of my favorite shots. Hope you like them.

    Paul

    1. Blekersstraat. I took this photo after walking out of Herberg Vlissinghe, the oldest pub in town. It's been a pub since 1515. I wonder if any drunken debates about whether or not the world is flat have ever taken place there.

    2. My feeble attempt at capturing the surprising speed of these buggies that carted tourists around town.

    3. One of the many canals around town.

    4. Foggy sunset shot taken while leaning out of our bed and breakfast window.

    5. One of just a few old windmills remaining in this town...on a very foggy day.

Well you aint got nuthin lik that in Texas. These are very nice Paul. Hard to pick a favorite but I guess it's #`1. If you clone those cars out of #4 I'm liking it a lot too.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I like the cars in #4. The juxtaposition of modern next to so, so old is really neat IMO. What a sky!

Jared...thanks for the comments. I wasn't sure if anyone other than myself would like the buggy shot.

OT...ain't that the truth. It's a different world over there. Glad you like the sunset shot. I always try to get a shot out the window of the places I stay. Timing was good on this one.

Opus...I wasn't sure about the cars myself, so thanks for commenting on it. I guess it can be good or bad depending on how you look at it.

No..sorry, Brian. I'm a looser. Only took my D70s and Canonet...no room for a 3rd camera. I am however planning to attempt some Holgaramas in Big Bend in about a month. I'll let you know if that works out.

    MMMMMMMMMMM Beer.

Thanks, Brian. I hope the Holgaramas turn out. I haven't had much luck with the Holga so far, but I'm not giving up yet.

    Re: Bruges

Looks like you had a good trip.
I'm definitly liking #1 best as it is the kind of shot I strive for without much success.
The others are great to see, too.

Thanks, Frog! I'm glad you like it. That's one of those shots I didn't think much of at the time, because I figured the extreme contrast would ruin it. I'm glad that didn't stop me from taking it.

What else could you possibly need? Well, maybe some Amy's ice cream...

Thanks for sharing. I'd pick #1 as my #1 too. It's got a moody feel to it with the people in the background. Wouldn't mind seeing a little more contrast to it though.

Hey, Steve. Mmmm...Amy's ice cream.. I didn't see any ice cream places there, but you could get waffles with chocolate syrup and ice cream on them. Like everything there, it goes well with the beer.

Glad you like the pick. It does look a little flat, huh. My monitor set up at home sucks. They always look different when I get to work and view them again.

    Thanks for commenting!
