    Marche de la Bievre

Small subject, not many photos, let's see how it goes.

Some French people are mad about walking, even in cities. Every year there is an organised walk from the center of Paris (Notre Dame Cathedral) up the course of the river Bievre to it's source in the hills south-west of Paris.

The trick is that they do it - at night. At daybreak they are out in the country, walking through the woodland of the Vallée de la Bievre, deafened by birdsong..

I live in Bievres. As I couldn't sleep I got up and went to see them, D300 on a tripod, long exposure so the walkers slip by like ghosts in the darkness.

I went for a second shot at the pretty part at Jouy-les-Loges (last picture) - and no sign of them. 3,000 walkers and I had the place to myself.
