    cant there be a rule?

If you dont have a home, you cant have a dog.
Simple as that. Doggy one is making more sad than people ones. eek!
    His face hurts the most.
    These are fabulous as usual.
I think Number one needs a saturation adjustment, possibly- or maybe my monitor is shot.
I am especially diggin the one of the lady with 5+ bags and a hot coffee.

These are what street shooting are all about...unique individuals living in their unique, individual worlds that are alien to most of ours. Slices of life is the phrase I like to use when shooting/viewing images like these. Good ones, all.

    in my fairy tale world

wish sometimes we knew just the right people at the right times in our lives with the most unlimited resources...between you and Charles and some others on here...it would be cool to compile enough shots to get a book together--like an awareness project where a chunk of the proceeds go to establish some programs for people with less than ideal circumstances...

these are great ina sad sorta way...the dog broke my heart but I know he is well taken care of rarely does any person that have a dog as their only companion rarely let him/her suffer or do without.

    good shots...

this dog is MOSTLIKELY a dog a person in better financial standing GOT TIRED OF !

I think it's BETTER to have a dog owned by a "homeless" person with a heart, than a heartless person with a home

    Interesting Color

Nice, moving photos, Gary. There but for the grace of God go I...

The color in these images is interesting. It seems sort of - but not quite - desaturated. They almost look colorized. Is it your camera or is this intetentional? Please, tell us more about how you set these up.

First off, I also feel a tremendous amount of compassion for these people, and yes animals seem to be able to bring a tear quicker than anything else. This dog appeared to be well cared for by a few people that were with it. I just think it is an old dog that enjoys those times when he can just lay around when they are not on the go.
As for the colors, they appear "normal" to me on my puter. They were all shot with a zoom, especially the first and last one at over 200mm. All with fill flash from my 420 EX I think it was fuji superia 200 film used. Not much done in the way of editing some levels adjustment, but no intentional color adjustments at all. However, before posting on the 2,3, and 4 pic I applied a Neatimage clean up ( it did not need it really, but I just got the program and have been experimenting with it alot to see the various effects) but after wards I noticed I might have allowed to strong a setting as it seemed to have a sort of plastic look about in certain places. Was late and did not feel like going back into the "darkroom" so just put them up as they were. For instance. . the scarf over the mans head had more of a linty and slightly wrinkly look to it where as now it is almost smooth. And the bag ladys blue bag had some wrinkles as well and now looks almost silky smooth. But as far as color, the colors did not change at all. Do these look "artificial" or "wrong".? The first one especially, looks very natural to me.

btw, the woman with all the bags I found so interesting because if you notice how neat and organized she is. All the bags are packed tight and neat and are all hanging up in a neat and orderly way.QAnd then, the coffee break. . . .
