    Rick Rickman on the D2x.....

It appears he is thrilled with the D2x, along with some others he mentioned in his post. Very good to hear from someone such as himself.

Re: Rick Rickman on the D2x.....

Thanks for posting this. It sounds like they've done well with it but this is the first photographer's report of it that I've seen. Maybe today was the magic day for Nikon letting their testers tell the world what they've seen.

Personally, I'm not in too much danger of dropping $5k on a digital camera body real soon but if some of the improvements make their way down to a D100 replacement, then maybe... ;)

Yeah, they are definitely easing up.....

with regards to info coming out on this camera. What I was happy about about most is that it came from Rickman, a most credible source (Pulitzer Prize Winner). He has got a fantastic portfolio, and he was very excited about the camera. I've seen a few other "rumored" reports and such, but this is pretty solid IMO. Another thing is that he really liked the "crop" mode, something that always seemed kinda awkward to me since I first read about it.
I'm with ya though, I can't afford this beast either, and seeing as how I plan on upgrading from the D70 in a year, I really hope Nikon gets their act together in the mid-levels. Whatever it's called, it needs to be released and available soon.
    Regards,
    Brian

They've come a long way with the D70, but I'm hoping for focusing like the F100 or F5 and a vertical grip - and keeping the low-noise ISO1600 files and 1/500 flash sync, but could live with 1/250. We shall see...
