I tried to salvage a poorly exposed slide today. My best efforts to restore it to a more "natural" exposure resulted in following - which is to say, not very good

With all the great digital work posted by others, I started wondering how different people might render this very same scene completely differently.

Please take full artistic license to modify this image and show us your interpretation of it.

Gama Adjusted in Thumbs Plus, +81. I do not know what it's called in Photo Shop.

I went for the classic aged look - I turned it black and white then added sepia tones

I like the shot Loupey. a nice balance.
I did a quick selection to include just the foreground blossums (you should do a more careful selection than I). I inverted the selection so the background was selected and did a 1.9 Gaussian Blur on it.

Then I again inverted the selection (just foreground selected again) and did this levels adjustment to get the whitest white being true white and spreading out the lighter tones. This left the oof BG being the original duller tones.

I deselected and then did a color balance, shifting the midtones and highlights very slightly toward yellow and red.

Wow! Thanks for participating. You all taught me more right here than I would have tinkering around PS for next several weeks/months

I think they all have a different feel and impression about them. Anyone care to go over-the-top? I had envisioned one of those impressionistic brushy/chalky/watercolor types but I can't get mine to look "right".
