    Alliance Air Show - 2007

Last weekend I went to the Alliance Air Show (Alliance, TX) to try photographing aircraft with my little S3 IS. Of course, the static displays were a cinch, but the in-flights were something else. Thought I'd share a select few...

    USAF F-16

    Navy F-18 Blue Angels

    Navy P-3 (I think)

    Marines AV-8 Harrier (VTOL)

    US Army Golden Knights

    "Red Baron" Pizza - Biplanes

    with an F-16 overhead...

Nice shots RS. The ground to air shots are just fine. Only one nitpick. Those helicopters are called the US Army Sky Soldiers. The Golden Knights are the US Army Parachute Team.

I've never seen the Sky Soldiers but would love to. I worked on Cobra's a long time ago and loved to fly in them (on test flights).

Of course, you're right. It's just that both the helicopters and parachutists were supposed to be the same part of the show. However, it was too windy for the jumpers, but (as you could see on my photo site) they did do a presentation to some of the jumpers. And, the announcer during the helicopter show was the same as would have been for the Golden Knights.... she even ended with "...may all your [K]nights be Golden!"

Cool! Same announcer? Same ending? Maybe they travel together then. I've seen the GK's several times but never the helicopter team. Hopefully I'll get to see them somewhere.

I went to your website, no luck finding the photos. Are they hidden somewhere?

They are under my personal category "BwB", but here is a direct link to the Air Show photos.
