    Intro. and Need Answers

I am Jackie - farmer and mother. Not very knowledgeable in the digital camera department. What I presently have, Olympus Stylus 300 (only 3 or 4 yrs old), isn't working any longer.
I would like a very basic, simple, easy operating camera to take pictures of family members, farm equipment etc. for reproduction to regular 4x6 prints and email. Will the Canon ELPH be a better replacement or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Check The Reviews but I have owned several point and shot Canons and the are easy to use and tough. You can't go wrong with one.

Hi Jackie! Welcome to the site. I hope you stick around and considering writing a review for whatever camera you decide on!

For what your requirements are, every camera on the market today will fulfill your needs, so I'd recommend sticking with the cheapest one. Canons are excellent cameras, you can't go wrong there, but the Elph line is a little bit pricier than it sounds like you need, so consider one of their cheaper models first. Good luck!

Jackie: Buy one of the Canon A series cameras, the A560 or the A570 IS, they are great.
I own the A560 and have great pictures taken with it.

I do like the waterproof Pentax PS or the Weather Proof Olympus cameras. The other weather proof cameras are the costly Professional cameras (Pro DSLR).

Thanks everyone. I know for certain that I will never buy another Olympus - I am leaning toward the Canon A460 (on sale for $99 CDN) or the A560 which costs a little more but may have a few more toys. Any more feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Re: Intro. and Need Answers

I would highly recommend spending the extra for a Canon Powershot with IS (image stabilization)

The A570 IS is the one that I use and it is actually quite inexpensive.

I am not familiar with Canadian online stores but I do know that Adorama ships to Canada.
