View of the San Gorgonio Pass

I took a little trip this morning up to Mt. San Jacinto, which overlooks the San Gorgonio Pass. This is only about an hour's drive from my house, and I estimated I reached an elevation of about 8500 to 9000 feet (Mt. San Jacinto peaks at 10,804 ft.), at which height I could see the entire Pass area. Mt. San Gorgonio is in the background. You can't see it in this picture, but at the basin is the Morongo Casino and Interstate 10, and my home town of Banning is covered by clouds. It was quite a sight! I tried a panoramic but my exposures were off so it didn't work out, unfortunately.

The second photo I shot while working my way up the mountain in my jeep. The wind was blowing quite steadily and was just pushing those clouds right past the mountains!
