    Las Vegas / Hoover Dam

Well I finally got around to going through my shots from Las Vegas.

    Where we stayed -

    Last remains of the Stardust

They dropped this place about a month ago - was still in operation when we were there in may.

Really liked this place - got many photos of it

    Pool at the Mirage

    Sunset

Next few are the Hoover Dam

Here is how far they are on the overpass that will bypass the Dam.

    Stratosphere

    New York New York

How can one go to Vegas without a photo of "THE KING"

    Paris

I tried alot of things to get this photo to work and I think this is it ...

A couple pano's from the Dam - too big to put here - check them out if you wish

You have so many nice shots in there. I love LV! I can't believe how all the old hotels are getting demolished. Enjoyed seeing the dam pics too. Drove from LV to Peoria AZ and back to LV about 9 years ago. I loved the scenery and wish I was into photography back then.
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

Re: Las Vegas / Hoover Dam

    Thanks for the comments -

I agree Jeta - these were in May and just by going through them it makes me want to go back. I made a visit to the dam about 14 years ago and this time was a first for my wife so we had such a good time. Next time I want to rent a car and go do what we want to do and see the off the path things. We took a tour to the dam and was limited to seeing what we wanted to. Sucked to see something cool out the bus window and not be able to stop to get some shots off.

Some time it would be nice to be in vegas when they drop a hotel.

Nice series Ben. I was in Vega in 2004, and seeing your photos makes me want to go back. We were there the weekend that the Wynn opened. We never went inside, but it looks pretty cool.

Thanks mike - unfortunately we didn't get into the wynn either. I have heard it is just amazing inside. Next time we will get in there. Something about Vegas has that draw to make you want to go. I think it has to do with the fact that it is going 24/7 and so much out there to see.

Re: Las Vegas / Hoover Dam

Our trip to Vegas was my wifes idea. She was out there for work, and wanted me to see it. We drove out and hit a bunch of national parks on the way. I really didn't want to even go to Vegas, but once I was there, I was glad I went. We were only there for a couple of days. I would go back again if the wife wanted to, but I would much rather go to a park.

Re: Las Vegas / Hoover Dam

I've found Vegas is fun for our whole family ages 7-19 with the kids. Gambling isn't something I even enjoy except for a little bit of slots. There's so much going on and things to see. It's really neat. I also like that three days is usually plenty and I'm ready to go home.
