    Smile Training question..on line courses

I have always loved photography, it began in high school over twenty years ago. However I have been away for the most of the past 15 years.

I have recently gotten back into the art form., however my skills are in my estimation poor, and I am interested in learning from the start.

Have any of you ever taken a photo class on line, I have been checking out betterphoto.com and would like to know if any of you have taken a course. The course that I am considering can be found at http://www.betterphoto.com/photocourses/JWH02.asp

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Re: Training question..on line courses

    Hello Don,
I am currently taking the Digital Course at www.nyip.com and my wife is taking the professional course. Although we have just started, they seem to be very good courses and I have already learned many things. I've heard many great things about betterphoto.com and I subscribe to their newletter and frequently check out their site. I've heard that the Betterphoto.com courses are a little better, but for me, I like the fact that I have up to 3 years to complete the courses and they are a lot less money at NYIP. IMHO...you can't go wrong with either course, from what I've read and heard.

Also, I started learning photography in May of last year. My only source was this site. The people here are fantastic and the most helpful people on the web. If you have any questions, everyone here is very willing to help you learn as they have helped me. Much of what I've learned in the first lessons is mostly review of what I have learned here.
Also, check out the "free lessons" on this site, at the top of the page. There are some very informative lessons. I have made extensive use of these.
Good luck...and keep us up to date on your progress!!!

    Ken,

thanks for the insight, I want to learn but I hate to waste money.

I too have been watching the site for a while and have been searching for others, but they seem to be the only one that has specific classes that I need.

Thanks again. I will go for it.
